Bharat Suresh Joshi Appointed as British Deputy High Commissioner in Chennai
Bharat Suresh Joshi on 31 October 2013 was appointed as British Deputy High Commissioner in Chennai. He will succeed Mike Nithavrianakis.

• Bharat Suresh Joshi was born in Croydon, UK.
• He joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1995.
• He has had diplomatic postings to Gambia, Dhaka and Qatar.
• He was worked as the British High Commissioner to Camaroon and non-resident Ambassador to Gabon, Chad, Equatorial Guinea and Central African Republic.
• He is the first person of Indian origin to represent the British mission in Chennai. It is an indication of the growing influence and spread of the diaspora in the UK.
